Systems Support Specialist - CS-IT
Reporting to the Supervisor, Service Delivery,
The incumbent will:
- Work within a dynamic team to ensure a positive customer service experience for CS-IT clients
- Provide and maintain positive working relationships with clients
- Provide customer service by way of technical support to end-users, ensuring effective functioning of hardware and software
- Diagnose and resolve client hardware and software problems
- Assist clients with how to use their computing environment
- Install and maintain systems and applications, includes upgrading, configuring, performing maintenance and testing
- Configure and set-up new hardware, including upgrading, adding peripherals, performing maintenance and testing
- Ensure technical standards are adhered to
- Coordinate and resolve issues/problems with outside agencies/contractors/vendors as required
- Create and maintain desktop images and software packages delivered through SCCM
- Setup A/V equipment in committee rooms and resolve A/V problems
The successful applicant will possess:
- A post-secondary diploma in Information Technology Support or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience providing technical support and maintenance to desktop hardware, printers and other peripherals
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience in providing technical support and systems maintenance with Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012
- Strong customer service skills, excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with other IT support providers
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
- The ability to work in a team-focused environment coupled with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- The ability and willingness to work standby on a rotating schedule, and works shifts with hours up to 11:00 p.m.
- The ability to address diverse needs and systemic barriers when resolving challenges
- A valid Class 'G' drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle
CUPE 1764 Salary Grade 5
This position is with Salary Grade 5 and will be paid at the following hourly rates:
- Start: $41.44 - Six Month: $43.74 - Job: $46.04
