Skate Instructors

Position Details

Under the direction of the Fitness and Sport Coordinator, Skate Instructors will be responsible for teaching group ice skating classes from basic to advanced skills to participants ranging in age from 2 years old to adult with most of the participants working on basic skating skills. Locations include the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre, Kinsmen, Healthy Planet, Memorial Centre Arena and/or Miskin Law Community Complex.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/ skate for extended periods of time in a cold environment
• Required to provide their own skates and CSA approved helmet
• Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team
• Experience with figure skating, hockey, recreational skating lessons, or ringette considered an asset
• Must provide a current criminal reference check with vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment (completed at candidate's own expense)
• Additional uniform components provided to successful candidates
• Position requires working a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays

Hourly Rate

Varies based on type of class or service provided.
