Job Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor Recreation Programs & Events, the Rink Monitor / Recreation Programmer is responsible for the delivery of quality recreation program instruction, on-ice skate monitoring during public skate, as well as tracking public skating admission.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completed Ontario Secondary School Grade 10 education or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.
- Three (3) months experience working in the sports/recreation field along with a minimum of one (1) year experience ice skating.
- Preferred experience in teaching Art, Sports, Dance, Fitness, Yoga, Zumba, Spin, Piano and Guitar instruction.
- Experience in Day Camp environment and bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a team environment, good time management skills and reliability to work under minimal supervision.
- Preference given to candidates who possess or are willing to obtain First Aid/CPR and Defibrillator certification and High Five Principles of Child Development training.
