The Township is currently seeking a self-motivated, highly organized individual for the full-time, contract position of Revenue Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services/Deputy Treasurer, the Revenue Coordinator position administers the Township’s property tax collection, through effective and timely billings, collection and management of outstanding amounts. The position is also responsible for the accounts receivable function for the Township. The Revenue Coordinator works closely with members of the public in-person, as well as via telephone and e-mail, to answer questions related to property taxes and resolve outstanding issues.

The position is based on a 35-hour work week. Comprehensive benefits and pension packages are also included.

The Township of Norwich is located within the County of Oxford in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, with beautiful countryside, villages, and productive farmland.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Two years of experience in accounting, cash handling, customer service and financial software, preferably in a municipal environment, is an asset.
  • Municipal Tax Administrative Program (MTAP) considered an asset, or a willingness to complete.
  • Working knowledge of current acceptable accounting practices and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to use reliable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Superior attention to detail and a high degree of data entry accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, internet and web-based applications is required.
