Our Revenue and Taxation team is looking for a collaborative and customer-focused Revenue and Accounts Receivable Coordinator to support the Town’s financial operations and water account administration. Position Purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Revenue and Taxation, the Revenue and Accounts Receivable Coordinator is responsible for the administration of municipal accounts receivable, collections, revenue reporting, and water meter account operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial, customer, property, and water billing records while supporting revenue collection and customer service objectives.
Responsibilities include processing and reconciling accounts receivable transactions, monitoring outstanding balances, coordinating collection activities, preparing financial and operational reports, and responding to customer inquiries regarding account and billing matters. The Coordinator is also responsible for administering new and existing water meter accounts, coordinating water service and meter-related activities with internal departments, contractors, developers, and residents, and supporting water billing operations through account maintenance, meter data management, billing adjustments, and work order administration.
The role requires strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial and customer information while providing a high level of customer service.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Highly organized and detail-oriented professional
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Business related programs such as Accounting, Finance or Business
- Municipal Tax Administration Program (MTAP) is an asset
- Two (2) years of current municipal experience in a water billing and/or accounting environment
- Experience with MS Dynamics/Great Plains and GIS software, and knowledge of Neptune Connect/Neptune 360 an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required
- Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and multi-tasking/work prioritization skills
- Problem-solving skills, discretion and good judgement when handling confidential/sensitive information; sensitivity and ability to maintain security of files
- Advanced interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with municipal staff, residents, and contractors
- Availability to work overtime to accommodate peak periods and workloads
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to adhere to strict deadlines
