Job Summary

Clearview Township is currently seeking one (1) seasonal part-time Recreation Maintenance worker for approximately September 21, 2026, to April 30, 2027. This unionized position is within the CUPE Bargaining Unit. Work locations may vary based on Township needs and include the Creemore Arena (220 Collingwood Street, Creemore) and the Stayner Arena (269 Regina Street, Stayner).

Key Accountabilities

• Provide operational and maintenance services to Clearview Township’s municipal facilities.
• Ensure all parks, recreation facilities, municipal buildings, and equipment are maintained to a high standard of operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Work under the supervision of the Supervisor of Maintenance, Parks and Recreation.
• Engage courteously and professionally with the public.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education with two (2) years of progressive municipal experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge and ability to operate an Ice Resurfacer.
• Familiarity with standard hand and power tools used in facilities maintenance and ability to operate safely.
• Knowledge of safety standards and safe work practices for tool use.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions.
• Capability to perform heavy manual labour including bending, stooping, reaching, lifting heavy objects.
• Physical strength to meet job demands in all weather conditions and to climb ladders.
• Current certification in Standard First Aid, CPR “C” with AED, and WHMIS.
• Related training in arena refrigeration, ice maintenance, pools, and parks operations (Class B Refrigeration Certificate, Pool Operator Certificate preferred) is an asset.
• Willing to provide consent for a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment offer.
