The Corporation of the Township of Melancthon is now accepting applications for the following position:

PUBLIC WORKS PATROLLER Seasonal Position (42.5 Hours per Week)

November 23, 2026 to April 2, 2027

The Township of Melancthon is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to fill the position of Public Works Patroller for the 2026-2027 winter season. Reporting to the Public Works Superintendent and Foreperson, the successful candidate will assist with winter road patrol, snow and ice control, road maintenance activities, and emergency response to ensure the safety of the travelling public.

Qualifications Include

• Valid Class G Driver's Licence (DZ or AZ licence considered an asset)
• Clean driver's abstract
• Ability to operate a variety of maintenance equipment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to respond to emergency callouts within 30 minutes
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices

Regular weekend work is required. Employees will be scheduled two days off during the week. Requests for specific weekends or days off may be considered, subject to operational requirements.

Compensation

$32.36 to $36.42 per hour
