At the City of Thunder Bay, we are seeking a Plant Electrician for our municipally operated Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). How You’ll Impact the Community

• Participate in the Plant’s facility maintenance system and recommend changes or modifications.
• Plan, install, repair, maintain, connect, and test electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment, and wiring for alarm, communication, light, heat, and power systems in buildings or other structures.
• Purchase equipment, materials, and parts as required and recommend spare parts for inventory.
• Perform the duties of an Operator or Lead of Electrical when required.
• Recommend changes to existing systems and equipment.

What You Bring to the Team

• Grade 12 or equivalent as per the Ministry of Environment certification guidelines
• Red Seal Industrial Electrician (442A) or Red Seal Electrician – Construction (309A) & Maintenance
• Proven experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA systems
• Fire Alarm Endorsement is desirable
