Duties
Reporting to the Manager of Housing, the Maintenance Repairperson performs a wide range of maintenance and repair duties within the Housing portfolio buildings.
- Performs general maintenance and minor repairs to all buildings within the housing portfolio.
- Provides operational support through scheduling and coordinating routine, annual and emergency repairs and maintenance.
- Responds to or reports tenant inquiries or maintenance requests in accordance with established procedures.
- Conducts move out, unit and building inspections.
- Handles cleaning materials, supplies and tools.
- Re-keys units and performs locksmith duties; keeps keys organized.
- Reports defective conditions or indications of trouble to the appropriate housing staff member.
- Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Community College Diploma (1 year) in Skilled Trades/Renovation Techniques/Construction/Carpentry.
- Minimum 3-6 months related professional experience.
- Valid Driver's Licence (Class G).
- Testing will form part of the qualifications.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Building and related Codes, Housing Services Act and the Residential Tenancies Act.
- Ability to obtain a Criminal Reference Check.
