Job Responsibilities

  • Arrive at the program site in time to properly prepare for the day's program and start and end the program according to schedule.
  • Ensure the continuing safety of all participants while at the program.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and proof of payment from each program participant.
  • Create and enforce a positive and respectful environment for those participating.
  • Assist with daily set up/clean-up of the program site.
  • Provide exceptional customer service including assistance for any customers that have questions regarding Town of Oakville programs.
  • Apply safety precautions and procedures in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Town of Oakville policies.
  • Notify the supervisor of any problems and/or recommendations regarding participants which may affect the quality of the program.
  • Attend and participate in all staff training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to skate at a high level (no equipment required).
  • A responsible individual independent worker.
  • Strong communication skills to deal effectively with staff and public.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • A motivated individual who has a passion and knowledge in program activity.
  • Knowledge of Town of Oakville drop-in programs is considered an asset.
  • Basic First Aid with CPR-C & AED or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C & AED.
  • Satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector screening check dated within the last 30 days required as a condition of employment. Candidates under the age of 18 at time of hire only required to provide a criminal record check.
