Communications Coordinator
Reporting to the Program Manager, Operations, this position is responsible for monitoring operational systems, gathering information from internal and external sources, and developing and distributing real-time service-related information to customers, using multiple media platforms.
The incumbent will:
- Collect and verify operational information from internal and external sources to ensure real-time service updates are accurate, timely, and reflect current conditions
- Deliver real-time information to customers via multiple communication channels
- Provide real-time customer support via multiple communication channels
- Coordinate internal reference materials to support consistent public communication for the Commission
- Create and maintain a knowledge base of transit service information to ensure that internal clients have access to updated and accurate information to inform customers and create internal communication materials related to operational service
The successful applicant will possess:
- Post secondary education in Business Administration, Transportation Planning, Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven experience in customer service, marketing, or point of sale operations
- Knowledge of customer service principles and public communications practices
- Knowledge of digital communication platforms and tools
- Familiarity with the Canadian Press Style Guide and accessibility standards for digital content
- Advanced communication skills, both written and oral, and strong customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external clients coupled with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work under tight and varying deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and take action without supervision in fast-paced or time-sensitive situations
- Ability to be technically proficient
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
