Aquatics & Fitness Operator

Position Details

• Department: Parks & Recreation
• Work Location: On-Site

Reporting to the Supervisor of Arena Operations, the Aquatic and Fitness Operator will have the knowledge and understanding of the various aspects in the operation of aquatic and fitness facilities in order to coordinate and lead an effective program to provide safe, efficient and quality facilities.  The Aquatic and Fitness Operator will maintain all related aquatics and fitness buildings, equipment, water park operations and outdoor pool operations and grounds. Qualifications

• Successfully completed a post-secondary diploma in building maintenance or possess a certified trade
• Minimum four (4) years experience working on building maintenance.
• Two (2) years experience maintaining a municipal class A pool and related equipment would be an asset.
• Holding a Certified Pool Operator certificate would be an asset.
• Candidates will have demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act and the Amusement Devices Act.
• A valid standard First Aid certificate is required.
• As a condition of employment, candidates must submit a current Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last three months) from their local police service for approval by the Corporation.
• This position is required to work evenings and weekends.
